Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a Mammography Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography equipment and perform various procedures to produce high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, ensuring accurate and safe procedures.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the importance of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate images for technical quality, including density, contrast, and distortion.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Maintain equipment and ensure it is properly functioning.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and other areas.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date required.
  • One or more of the following certifications required:
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
