A Day in the Life of a Nurse PractitionerAs a Nurse Practitioner, you play a vital role in the medical component of our hospice program, including visits, physical examinations, face-to-face interactions, and documentation. Your responsibilities also include collaborating with our Administrator/Director and Medical Director, as well as other healthcare professionals, to develop formal patient care policies.
You will work closely with our Patient Care Coordinator to ensure that care is delivered in accordance with acceptable standards of practice, meeting patient and family needs, and complying with applicable rules and regulations. When needed, you will provide guidance to our Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Medical Director and Ethics Committee in resolving conflicts and ethical issues. Additionally, you may assist with managing, reviewing, and responding to federal, state, or local surveys and inspections, as well as developing in-service and education programs for other professional staff.
Qualifications for a Nurse Practitioner- Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner authorized to practice in the State of Oklahoma, with no sanctions on their license.
- Work experience in geriatrics, palliative medicine, or other relevant fields of medicine.
- Previous experience in a certified hospice program is preferred.
- The Nurse Practitioner works in the field 95% of the time, requiring frequent bending, stooping, sitting, standing, and walking.
This full-time Nurse Practitioner position offers flexible hours from Monday to Friday.
Our competitive wage for this position is $85,000 per year, which takes into account the location in Enid, OK. This salary allows us to attract top talent while ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
