About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at UNC Health Appalachian. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our professional nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
  • Obtain and record accurate patient information, including vital signs and medical history.
  • Administer treatment and personal care procedures, such as feeding, bathing, and dressing patients.
  • Contribute to patient education by reinforcing teaching instructed by professional staff or physicians.
  • Assist with physical examinations, take and record vital signs, and report any changes in patient condition.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at time of hire.
  • Successful completion of an accredited CNA program licensed in the State of North Carolina.
  • Previous experience as a CNA preferred, but not required.
  • Certified as a Certified Nurse Assistant in the State of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued from the American Heart Association required at time of hire.
Working Conditions

This role requires regular exposure to the risk of bloodborne diseases and frequent exposure to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment, odorous chemicals, and specimens. You will also be subject to irregular hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
