Fiber Optic Technician

Dickson Electric System, a leading provider of telecommunications services, is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. As a Fiber Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation and maintenance of our fiber optic network, ensuring seamless connectivity for our customers.

• Install and maintain fiber optic cables, including mainline fiber, drop cables, and inside wiring.
• Construct and maintain all phases of mainline fiber line construction, including aerial and underground cables.
• Perform in-home premise installations and maintenance, including configuring and optimizing inside wiring systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues related to inside wiring systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement network upgrades and expansions.

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Five years' experience in the telecom field, preferably in fiber construction and installing drops.
• Advanced knowledge of fiber optic splicing (fusion and mechanical).
• Ability to distinguish colors and exhibit visual depth perception.
• Proficient in working from lineman hooks and/or ladder and bucket truck.

This is a full-time position, with a minimum of eight hours a day, five days a week. Occasional work on Saturdays may be required, and the position involves extensive travel within the DES service area.
