This role is responsible for providing exceptional pet grooming services to dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction by providing personalized pet grooming services.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and following up with reminders.
- Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment.
- Report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager promptly and follow established safety procedures.
- Follow established bathing and grooming procedures to ensure high-quality services.
- Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other necessary services to maintain pets' health and hygiene.
- Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns and styles.
- Clip dogs' hair according to determined patterns, using electric clippers, combs, and shears.
- Comb and shape dogs' coats to achieve a clean and polished appearance.
- Use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm and relaxed during the grooming process.
- Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately and efficiently.
- Properly fill out required grooming forms to ensure accurate records.
- Observe and adhere to all safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain high standards.
- Assist in store operations as needed to ensure seamless customer service.
- Minimum of 1-year experience grooming or styling pets.
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats.
- Ability to provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense.
- Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Compassion and ability to treat animals with care and respect.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality services.
- Ability to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Safely work around pets and pets' waste.
The working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to wet conditions, particularly when bathing dogs. Exposure to cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste.
Work shifts vary from one store to another, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) lighting and temperature are adequate.
