Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and repair central chilled water equipment
  • Repair all control air handling equipment
  • Maintain and repair all refrigeration equipment
  • Operate, maintain, and repair all systems associated with air conditioning equipment, including pneumatic and electrical control systems, cooling towers, chillers, DMS-350, and associated equipment
  • Maintain and repair all steam converters and associated equipment
  • Perform daily equipment checks
  • Maintain all tools and test equipment in good working order
  • Pick up supplies from local vendors
  • Order all parts and supplies necessary for HVAC shop needs
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all required equipment
  • Fabricate parts needed if not commercially available
  • Supervise training of all General Maintenance Technicians in HVAC and Refrigeration
  • Repair all ice machines and associated equipment
  • Coordinate, install, and order all parts for construction projects related to HVAC/Refrigeration
  • Know and follow facility and department safety policies at all times
  • Responsible for minor repairs to equipment, structures, and environmental systems
  • Change filters on all heating and cooling units
  • Clean and maintain equipment rooms and shop areas
  • Replace broken belts on air handler units as needed
  • Reset and check out tripped circuit breakers in electrical panels
  • Acknowledge and reset fire alarm system
  • Assist in construction projects as duties require, i.e., painting, patching, or demolition
  • Assist with moving of office furnishings
  • Replace ceiling tiles as needed
  • Document all information required by preventative maintenance program
  • Record all medical gas readings as required
  • Check and record all hot water tank temperatures
Requirements
  • Master/Journeymen's card and Certificate in Universal Refrigeration Transition and recovery
  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in HVAC in lieu of Master/Journeymen's Card
