Position Overview

The Detroit Medical Center is in search of a Pediatric Radiology Technologist to join our esteemed team in providing exceptional healthcare services.

About the Facility: The Children's Hospital of Michigan stands as a beacon of excellence in pediatric and adolescent healthcare. Our surgical services encompass a wide range of specialties, including general, thoracic, reconstructive, and cardiovascular surgery. We utilize advanced imaging technologies tailored for children, such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI, to deliver superior diagnostic services. Our Emergency Department is recognized as a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a dedicated pediatric burn center, ensuring comprehensive care for our young patients.

Key Duties

Under general supervision, the Pediatric Radiology Technologist will:

  • Act as a lead resource for personnel engaged in Radiologic Procedures while performing standard Radiologic Technologist tasks.
  • Oversee workflow, delegate responsibilities, and guide staff in executing their duties effectively.
  • Monitor the activities of Radiologic Technologists, addressing routine and complex issues to maintain departmental efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with established diagnostic procedures and departmental standards.
  • Provide input for personnel evaluations, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Assist in the management of performance improvement initiatives and maintain scheduling and timekeeping for radiologic technologists.
  • Ensure adherence to legal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications

1. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).

2. Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training is required by the end of the orientation period.

3. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in Radiologic work is essential.
