Job Summary

The Maintenance Director position at Cantex Continuing Care Network is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the overall maintenance of the facility's physical plant. This role requires performing or overseeing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other technical tasks, as well as ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal life-safety code regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise or perform maintenance activities at the facility.
  • Track expenses daily on Budget Control Worksheets.
  • Ensure maintenance shop, storage areas, and utility carts are kept in an orderly manner.
  • Perform various tasks in a timely manner, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, cooling, and refrigeration repair.
  • Implement and maintain maintenance logs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis of maintenance tasks and/or preventative maintenance actions.
  • Maintain overall appearance of the facility's physical plant.
  • Communicate progress of essential building tasks and current BCW balances in daily stand-up meetings.
  • May obtain drawings and bids for physical plant improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations, including federal, state, and local authorities and/or regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year experience, ideally in a SNF setting.
  • Institutional maintenance and housekeeping is necessary. Knowledgeable of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • HVAC skills preferred.
  • The ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings is helpful.
  • Craftsmanship capabilities preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
