About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to pediatric patients in an acute medical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with a range of speech and language disorders, including feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance development, restore function, and prevent disability in pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Provide education and consultation to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on speech and language development, disorders, and treatment options.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital setting.
  • CPR certification.
