Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will utilize evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to foster a safe and effective patient environment. This role involves delivering and coordinating patient-centered care throughout the healthcare continuum, ensuring smooth transitions for patients to other care settings or their homes.

The nurse will play a crucial role in preparing patients for their upcoming surgeries by gathering comprehensive medical histories, educating them about surgical procedures and anesthesia, and confirming that all pre-surgical evaluations are completed. The position also entails providing direct patient care within the pre-surgery optimization clinic.

Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a valid Illinois RN license.
  • BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with a commitment to complete a BSN program within four years for nurses with less than 12 months of experience.
  • A minimum of two years of current nursing experience is required, with a preference for candidates with Critical Care, Step Down ICU, or Preop/Post Op experience.
  • Current AHA CPR and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts as needed.
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds independently; for heavier lifts, appropriate patient handling equipment should be utilized with assistance.
