The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Rooms of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, working as an integral member of a team of care providers to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical skills related to intra-operative patient care, including scrubbing in for various surgical procedures.
- Provide emergency care measures as needed and assist in meeting patients' emotional needs.
- Follow universal precautions, safe handling guidelines, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized perioperative unit, promoting a positive attitude among staff, families, and patients.
- Work under the direct supervision of a PCC-RN and under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; formal Surgical Technology Training Program or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in the Operating Room as a Surgical Technologist is a plus.
