ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse is accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, providing both direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative environment. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and implementing care plans for patients across all age groups.
- Coordinating care with surgical teams, including surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Supervising and guiding OR Technicians and other staff to ensure high standards of nursing practice.
- Collaborating with various departments to maintain efficient patient flow and quality care.
- Adhering to hospital policies, regulations, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Serving as a resource for colleagues and participating in unit meetings and training sessions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
3. ACLS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire.
4. PALS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire.
5. Minimum of one year of perioperative experience or equivalent training.
6. CNOR Certification preferred.
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
