Grader Line Technician

Grader Line Technician: The primary responsibilities include ensuring that all cases processed through the grader are properly stacked for transportation to the cooler, obtaining the necessary quantity of cartons, and overseeing the adequate maintenance of the tape machine on the grader.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS: (non-exhaustive list)
  • Safely transport products to various locations within the facility using forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Set up the case stacking line each morning.
  • Stack all processed cases onto the appropriate skids after they exit the grader.
  • Properly position inedible barrels on the grader.
  • Monitor all cases after processing to ensure they are sealed and labeled correctly with proper identification materials.
  • Retrieve cartons from the carton room for the day's grader run and bring additional cartons as needed throughout the day.
  • Perform maintenance on the tape machine and ensure it seals the case boxes effectively throughout the shift.
  • Transport full skids of eggs to the cooler as they are filled during the grader run.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of rejected products.
  • Ensure that all trash and cardboard are properly baled and disposed of at the end of each shift.
  • Assist packers or candlers as directed by the grader manager.
  • Stack and move egg cases, racks, or skids efficiently and safely to minimize loss.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience with forklifts and/or pallet jacks is preferred.
  • Ability to work weekend shifts and maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Physical capability to perform essential job functions, including regularly lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to monitor all cases coming off the grader for proper sealing and labeling.
  • Skill in operating Rose Acre machinery (e.g., skid loaders) safely to ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Capacity to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods on concrete floors, with frequent bending, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to use hands repetitively and lift heavy items consistently.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety, employment, and GMP policies, including working in a smoke-free environment.
  • Commitment to upholding strict animal welfare standards and reporting any incidents of abuse or neglect to protect the health and welfare of the birds.
