Phlebotomy Training Specialist

As a Trainer-Phlebotomy at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of the laboratory's phlebotomy education and training program. This includes utilizing resources appropriately, conducting assessments, taking corrective action, and providing essential education and training for phlebotomy personnel. You will also be responsible for following up on training needs within the laboratory and covering phlebotomy needs as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training programs for new hires and existing phlebotomists to ensure they are up to date on phlebotomy procedures.
- Work closely with the Phlebotomy Supervisor to conduct competency reviews and provide feedback to employees.
- Manage the supply of training materials and ensure they are always available.
- Perform ad-hoc training sessions with seasoned phlebotomists to refresh on phlebotomy techniques, policies, and procedures.
- Attend in-services and continuing education events to maintain proficiency and competency in policies and procedures.
Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum: Two (2) years of experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital, clinic, doctor's office, etc.
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Minimum: Successful completion of a Phlebotomy Program or equivalent training.
