We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, tackling complex problems related to electric transmission.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an engineer with a passion for design and analysis of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for leading utilities.

The successful candidate will work on electric transmission line design projects, applying industry standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and others. They will perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and create material procurement and construction documents.

As part of a multi-person Leidos team, this individual will interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.

Work location: Portland, OR (with potential for hybrid schedule working in office and from home). Occasional travel to Salt Lake City, UT may be required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum 4 years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission system design
  • Experience reviewing full transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans, profiles, and construction packages
  • Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements, construction specifications, material procurement processes, project schedules, and construction work packages
  • Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
  • Proven leadership experience, including supervising others
