Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist in medical procedures and provide diagnostic support through organ or body imaging.
- Prepare and position patients while accurately selecting anatomical and technical parameters.
- Administer contrast media and medications in accordance with established practices and regulations.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any irregularities.
- Review protocols and suggest improvements as necessary.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and guidelines.
- Perform specialized imaging procedures, including angiography and complex vascular interventions, while assisting the Radiologist/PA.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards in all activities.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- One or more of the following credentials is required:
- Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Education:
- High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Radiology Technologist experience is highly preferred over RCIS.
