Job Description

The Dialysis Technician role at Fresenius Medical Care North America is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and want to make a difference in their community. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet patients' unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient-specific detailed education regarding dialysis therapy, including disease process and vascular access management.
  • Assist healthcare members in welcoming assigned patients, obtaining vital signs, and performing vascular access cannulation.
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, monitor patients' response to therapy, and provide intervention as directed by physicians or nursing staff.
  • Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment, document findings, and report any unusual changes to registered nurses or supervisors.
  • Prepare lab specimens for collection, ensure accurate documentation of treatment information, and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet patients' unique needs and goals.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required timeline.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
