Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant Professional to join our team at Delaware Veterans Home. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment plans developed by professional staff, providing individualized care to residents with acute or chronic disabilities.
  • Lead therapeutic processes, including reality orientation, sensory stimulation, and range of motion exercises, to promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care teams, providing vital information about residents' physical conditions, abilities, and behavioral characteristics.
  • Ensure aseptic integrity of feeding, catheter, and respiratory tubes/devices, while assisting residents with personal hygiene.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, nutritional intake/output, and report any significant changes or irregularities to professional staff.
  • Provide written and oral reports to describe unusual incidents and ensure resident safety and well-being.
  • Escort residents to social and recreational activities, medical appointments, and other off-campus events.
  • Apply appropriate interventions to prevent or de-escalate inappropriate behaviors, promoting a safe and respectful environment for all residents.
