About the Role

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Substation Physical Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing HV/MV substation and/or switchyard systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical general arrangement and/or station layout drawings, Yard Equipment Details & Elevations, Grounding Plans & Details, Conduit/Cable/Raceway Plans & Details, Bills of Material, Station Service and Battery Systems, Lighting Plans & Details, Electrical Bus Span calculations, Phase-Phase and Phase-Ground Electrical Clearances, Lightning/Static Protection/Grounding Studies, etc.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software to design and develop substation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements and company standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
Requirements
  • 5-15 years of experience in substation design and project management.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • P.E. licensure in AR, LA, TX, and MS.
