We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Hays County, TX. As a Pediatric Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, directing, and providing technical services for the Tuberculosis Elimination and other infectious diseases to meet the regional and state objectives in accordance with CDC's guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Develops program policies, procedures, disease prevention strategies, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals.
- Integrates communicable disease activities and surveillance into a comprehensive public health system.
- Performs educational, consultative, advisory, and technical assistance to coordinate and integrate local, regional, and state resources to reduce the morbidity and mortality of TB and infectious diseases.
- Delivers case management, contact investigation, and disease intervention activities.
- Plans and organizes departmental nursing and support staff.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in the area of nursing or public health administration or related field.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- A minimum of four years of clinical or public health nursing preferred.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Ability to obtain certifications in CPR, Texas Health Steps, HIV Counseling, Vision Screening, and Scoliosis Screening.
- Must complete HIPAA training within 7 days of employment.

Part-time employees who work less than 30 hours per week over the course of a year, receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.
