Program Overview:

Our 12-month, extensive transition-to-practice program is designed to assist your evolution from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. This Nurse Residency program equips new graduate nurses with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for continuous improvement in quality and safety at the point of care. It features a combination of precepted orientation, guided by dedicated preceptors, along with blended learning experiences.

Nurse Residents Will:
  • Enhance clinical judgment to swiftly identify changes in patient conditions and the urgency of clinical situations.
  • Develop outstanding communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues and support patients.
  • Participate in cohort experiences that foster peer and professional socialization, reinforcing commitment to the nursing profession.

Key Responsibilities:
The staff nurse delivers nursing care to patients across the lifespan, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum Experience: New Graduates of a nursing program are eligible.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Georgia; BLS certification required.
  • Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced certification in specialty area, if applicable.
