About the Role:

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Distinguished Engineer - Enterprise Platforms Technology to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and secure messaging systems that can handle high volumes of messages efficiently. You will work closely with our talented team of developers, product managers, and people leaders to drive innovation and optimize business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Developing and maintaining messaging infrastructure to ensure seamless communication between systems and applications
* Integrating messaging platforms with other systems and applications to ensure compatibility and functionality across different devices and operating systems
* Monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks or issues, and implementing solutions to enhance reliability and speed
* Ensuring that messaging systems are secure from external threats, implementing encryption, and adhering to data protection regulations

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
* At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or data architecture
* At least 5 years of experience in web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, and SPA frameworks)
* At least 3 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

* 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
* 10+ years of hands-on experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc.
* 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
