Job Summary

Bonner Springs USD 204 is seeking a skilled Transportation Laborer/Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and efficiency of our fleet of buses and vans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, including fueling, fluid checks, and washing vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vans and buses, including light body work and seat repairs.
  • Operate and maintain Class B- CDL vehicles, including passenger and school bus endorsements.
  • Conduct weekly fluid checks and maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with snow removal and maintain a clean shop and lot.
  • Drive routes or activities as needed and maintain good relationships with coworkers.
  • Work with vendors to procure parts and supplies for shop use.
Requirements
  • Class B- CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement.
  • Diesel engine knowledge and experience with vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
