Job Title: Primary Counselor

At Cambridge HS, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Counselor to join our team. As a Primary Counselor, you will play a vital role in implementing and evaluating Behavioral and Counseling treatment plans to meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement specific STP group content, developing lesson plans and maintaining a library of resources.
  • Offer and monitor groups, Supervised Outings, and attend Shift reports daily, disseminating information as needed.
  • Complete attendance documentation, progress documentation in PCC, and assigned daily/weekly/monthly documentation.
  • Provide behavioral counseling to clients, assist in crisis counseling, and participate in Code Green situations as a trained member of the PRO-ACT Team.
  • Understand and follow Safety and Sanitation rules, enforcing protocols with residents and reporting any known or suspected violations.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience in a mental health field.
  • Ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
  • Ability to perform Essential Job Functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions:
  • May encounter frequent interruptions.
  • May be involved with residents, family, and government agencies.
  • May be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at times.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier weights.
