Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Balboa Nephrology. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide ongoing patient information to the interventionist and clinical team during procedures to deliver vascular access care to the patient.
- Monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG) during procedures and maintain radiation safety when C-Arm is in use in the procedure room.
- Assist in procedure room preparation, maintain sterile techniques in the procedure room, and assist with pre-and post-procedures including assessment of discharge.
- Monitor and record use of all medications during procedures and gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments and patient history.
- Keep clear and accurate patient medical records and maintain up-to-date narcotic drug log.
- Serve as surgical technologist during procedures as needed and assist center manager in maintaining inventory count as needed.
- Communicate with dialysis facilities to monitor post-care as directed by center manager and observe all OSHA, infection control, and radiation safety monitoring policies.
- Assist in moving patients within the center and assist in scheduling patients as directed.
- Participate in access center community education programs as needed and perform other duties required to adequately fulfill the duties of your position.
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing program.
- Active state RN license.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - or the ability to attain within 2 weeks of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer applications.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records system.
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing program.
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical record system.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and some sitting. The job requires the use of full range of body motions to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift and move supplies. The work environment involves a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues, or potential spills or splashes. The use of appropriate personal protection measures is required for every healthcare provider in this position.
