Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Opelousas General Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in acute, subacute, and chronic healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment
    • Diagnose lung and breathing disorders and recommend treatment methods.
    • Interview patients and perform chest physical exams to determine the best course of therapy.
  • Ventilator Management
    • Manage ventilators and artificial airway devices for patients who cannot breathe normally on their own.
    • Manage non-invasive and high flow devices for patients requiring oxygenation and ventilatory support.
  • Emergency Response
    • Respond to emergency situations and urgent calls for care.
  • Patient Education
    • Educate patients and families about lung disease to maximize their quality of life.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Associates Degree in Respiratory Care - Required
  • Certifications
    • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) - Required
    • CPR (BLS) - Required
    • CPR (ACLS) - Preferred
    • CPR (PALS) - Preferred
    • NRP - Preferred
