Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dialysis Technician to join our team at Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab. As a Dialysis Technician, you will play a critical role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
  • Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
  • Evaluate vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation.
  • Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or directed.
  • Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy.
  • Evaluate the patient prior to termination of venous access and discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
  • Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the supervisor.
  • Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and timely.
  • Collect, label, and store lab samples according to required laboratory specifications.
  • Clean dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area according to facility policy.
  • Assist other healthcare members in providing patient education.
  • Prepare, organize, and efficiently use supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
  • Explain the dialysis procedure and operation of the hemodialysis machine to the patient before treatment to alleviate anxieties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
  • Minimum Experience: At least one (1) year of Renal Dialysis experience.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have the proven ability to maintain professional conduct in the care of patients.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.

Licensure/Certifications (Required):

  • Current Dialysis Certification.
  • Current State of Wisconsin CNA.
  • Current BLS CPR issued by the American Heart Association.
