Allergy Nurse

Northshore is seeking a skilled Allergy Nurse to join our team. As an Allergy Nurse, you will be responsible for performing allergy testing, spirometry testing, and specialized testing such as Oral Challenges, Venom testing, and Penicillin testing. You will also be responsible for administering biologic injections and managing immunotherapy shot patients. Additionally, you will perform phone triage, in person patient triage, refill medications, report test results to patients, obtain prior authorizations for medications/tests, provide patient education, clean and stock exam rooms, and arrange shipment of specialty medications.
Responsibilities:
- Perform allergy testing, spirometry testing, and specialized testing such as Oral Challenges, Venom testing, and Penicillin testing.
- Administer biologic injections and manage immunotherapy shot patients.
- Perform phone triage, in person patient triage, refill medications, report test results to patients, obtain prior authorizations for medications/tests, provide patient education, clean and stock exam rooms, and arrange shipment of specialty medications.
Requirements:
- Current Illinois RN licensure.
- Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
- Prior work experience in a Allergy setting, highly preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Self-starter, able to handle periods of high stress.
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting/bending/reaching/climbing and repetitive use of hands.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry/push up to 20 lbs.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both written & verbal.
- Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, evening and Saturday rotation.
- Ability to travel to the Elmhurst and Naperville clinic locations.
