Water/Wastewater Engineer

NV5 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our San Diego Water/Wastewater Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning and design of drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including preparing Preliminary Engineering Reports, Plans, Specifications, and Estimates.
- Work with a team of experienced engineers to problem-solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.
- Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering.
- Perform research and field investigations, and analyze and formulate technical documents and reports.
- Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem-solve issues.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and/or Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering with concentration in water/wastewater.
- 2-3 years of progressive relative water/wastewater infrastructure design experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Innovyze InfoSewer/InfoWater, and ArcGIS.
- Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks.
- Passionate about water/wastewater.
- Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.).
