Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Software Functional Manager 2 to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a key member of our software team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, and testing of software for airborne applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 12-15 engineers in the development of software for airborne applications.
  • Develop and maintain software using software engineering best practices and standards.
  • Partner with responsible Software, System, and Test Engineers to ensure a testable product is being developed.
  • Design influence to increase product reliability and test coverage.
  • Make recommendations for design, process improvements, and data collection.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of SW Products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 9 years of related professional/military experience, or Master's degree and 7 years of related professional/military experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with all phases of the software development process.
  • At least 5 years of experience in C/C++ or other OOP languages.
  • Current active Secret DoD Security clearance.
  • Ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Bamboo).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working in a DevOps culture with continuous integration / continuous deliveries.
  • Lead or management experience in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership of engineering personnel on a Northrop Grumman Corporation program.
  • Active/Current Special Program Access.

Salary Range:
$131,200 - $196,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
