MJ Care Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational services to students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide direct services to students based on their individualized education plan (IEP), including consultation with other professionals, progress discussions with parents and teachers, and instruction through an inclusion model and/or small group pull-out.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Lead teachers to incorporate accommodations to the curriculum, develop and implement lesson plans, and assist students in completing classroom assignments, homework, and projects.
- IEP Management: Write and update goals and objectives for IEPs, organize and lead IEP meetings, and provide necessary documentation.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Administer and interpret individual formal and informal assessments, document student achievement and progress toward their objectives and goals, and provide progress reports and timely communication with parents/guardians.
- Community Engagement: Establish relationships and maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's specific needs and accomplishments, and promote community through attendance and participation in school events.
- Education: Wisconsin Special Education Teaching Certification, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Certification, and CPR Certification (preferred).
- Experience: 1+ years of experience working in a school setting, with experience working with a diverse student population (preferred).
- Skills and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, strong communication skills, ability to work as a collaborative team member, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
The Special Education Teacher will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, parents, healthcare professionals, and other staff members. The position requires the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing circumstances.
