Metal Fabrication Equipment Operator

Shift Availability: 2nd Shift
Compensation: Includes a $2/hr shift differential for 2nd shift.
The role involves operating machinery to shape metal through processes such as punching, blanking, or bending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks as outlined in the Work Order and Blueprint.
- Interpret technical drawings and configure machinery to produce components that meet quality standards with minimal supervision.
- Conduct First Piece inspections as required.
- Perform spot welding as necessary.
- Change tooling as required for different tasks.
- Ensure the correct materials are loaded into the machinery.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment, tools, and gauges at all times.
- Identify issues, gather data, and collaborate with operators and leads to draw accurate conclusions.
- Assist with other fabrication and painting equipment as needed.
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
- Experience in machine operation.
- Ability to perform spot and resistance welding; experience with MIG and TIG welding is advantageous.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and mechanical aptitude.
- Capability to read calipers and other measurement tools.
- Strong mathematical skills, including decimals and fractions.
- Ability to set up, operate, and adjust machinery as required.
- Solid computer skills and knowledge.
- Experience with moderate preventive maintenance procedures.
- Understanding of production planning requirements.
- Consistent attendance record.
- Problem-solving skills to handle various situations with limited standardization.
