Nurse Trainee

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Graduate Vocational Nurse to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Graduate Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional.
• Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
• Document and report pertinent observations and patient information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Participate in emergency situations to ensure the safety of individuals.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited basic nursing education program.
• Temporary authorization to practice as a Graduate Vocational Nurse.
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of an LVN or RN.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including overtime and extended hours.
