Job Summary and Qualifications

Interventional Radiology Technologist (Rotating call is required.)

We are seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization, as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Interventional Radiology Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating accountability and responsibility in performing procedures and care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner
  • Preparing and positioning patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Accurately performing technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines
  • Assisting in the administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure
  • Obtaining high-quality radiographic images and reviewing quality of radiographs to ensure quality standards have been met
  • Obtaining and documenting all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies, and obtaining informed consent
  • Maintaining effective communication with patients providing explanation of procedures within scope of practice as well as with caregiver colleagues to include radiologists
  • Being responsible for rotating call assignments

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from a 2-year AMA-approved school
  • Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered in conjunction with minimum Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years licensed experience in Radiology to include at least one (1) year of IR experience
  • Angio, Peripheral, and Neuro experience a plus
  • BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire
