The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols and procedures specific to electrical systems in shipbuilding and maritime operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols and procedures specific to electrical systems in shipbuilding and maritime operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and operations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead safety training programs for employees, focusing on electrical safety practices, emergency response procedures, and proper use of equipment.
- Investigate electrical incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure electrical safety is integrated into the design, construction, and maintenance of maritime vessels.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to electrical safety in maritime environments.
- Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Provide expert advice and support to project teams on all aspects of electrical safety.
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in electrical safety management, preferably in the maritime or shipbuilding industry.
- Naval electrical safety experience is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations, such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 1915, and relevant maritime safety codes.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and interact with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.
- Certification in electrical safety or occupational safety (e.g., CSP, CHST) is a plus.
