Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Med Surg

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled travel nurse RN Med Surg to join our team. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, gain new experiences, and develop your clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment skills: Conduct thorough assessments, deliver patient care appropriately, and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development stages.
  • Clinical skills: Demonstrate competent clinical skills, perform direct patient care activities, and provide nursing care to the population of the unit.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation, demonstrate knowledge of documentation guidelines, and assume primary responsibility for documenting patient progress.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professional practice responsibility, knowledge of policies and procedures, and identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Respond to patients' and families' needs in a professional, courteous, and positive manner, promoting a patient-centered environment.
  • Safety: Follow National Patient Safety Goals, use safe transfer techniques, and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
  • Unit Specific Job Function: Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients, individualize patient care, and assess patient reaction and understanding.
  • Responsibility and Accountability: Contribute to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care, prioritizing patient needs, and managing changes in patient condition.
  • Patient Education and Chart Completion: Assess patients' understanding of surgical procedures, actively include patients and family members in teaching, and perform pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
  • Duties Specific to PAT RN: Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner, evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness, and identify potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience
  • BLS - Required
  • RN License - Required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
