Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of production machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance procedures on all equipment to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC/DC motors, and control systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical schematics to effectively troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Assemble, install, and fabricate equipment as needed, utilizing welding skills for structural integrity.
  • Work with steam and boiler controls, as well as mechanical power drives, to maintain efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure accurate inventory management and material handling.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Actively participate in safety reviews, training sessions, and audits, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Embrace continuous learning by participating in a comprehensive maintenance training program provided by the company.
  • Provide your own specialized tools (company-provided specialty tools will be available).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair, including operation of small machinery such as lathes, drill presses, and welding equipment.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute actions with urgency and efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with management, supervisors, office personnel, and operational teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts as business needs dictate.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other technical areas of maintenance to broaden skillset.
  • Demonstrated dependability, timeliness, and commitment to fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • History of consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's degree in an electrical field is preferred but not mandatory.
