Job Title: COBOL Programmer

We are seeking a skilled COBOL Programmer to join our team at Neos Consulting. As a COBOL Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications using COBOL programming language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, and code review.
  • Conduct extensive code reviews and analysis to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to existing development staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on COBOL programming language.
  • Experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, IBM DB2 for z/OS, MVS/JCL, and data integration and data quality.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CICS Web Services, CONTROL-M for z/OS, and public sector experience.
  • Knowledge of Topaz, IDz, and Eclipse for Mainframe.
  • Experience with containerized web applications in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including CloudFront, EC2, CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, Route53, and AWS CDK.

Work Hours: Candidate must be available to work 8 to 5 Central Standard Time Alternative work hours must be pre-approved by the Direct Supervisor

Onsite Requirement: Candidate will mostly be working remotely but will be require to come onsite as required by the Direct Supervisor. (One day out of the week up to five times a month)

Support Requirement: Candidate will be required to provide support in an on-call situation 24 hours a day during rotation. Candidate may be required to provide support to an on-call programmer.
