We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Services Supervisor to join our team at FLANDERS ELECTRIC MOTOR SERVICE LLC in Lakeland, FL. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team and guide the daily work flow of our Field Service Technicians. As a Senior Mechanical Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing customer on-site diagnosis, maintenance, repair, installation, and/or removal of complex electromechanical motors and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Daily Operations: Direct the daily work of our Field Service Technicians, provide guidance and support, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Motor and Equipment Expertise: Service and repair motors and equipment, working independently on various accounts and complex jobs.
  • Communication and Leadership: Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders, providing clear directions and ensuring a smooth work flow.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that tools and equipment are available, properly maintained, and in good working condition to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Training and Development: Train our Field Service Technicians in various department responsibilities, promoting their growth and development within the company.
  • Technical Diagnosis: Analyze and diagnose motors and equipment prior to repair and/or removal, determining the most effective course of action.
  • Decision Making: Determine if repairs can be completed in the field or if equipment needs to be sent to the shop for repairs, making informed decisions to meet customer expectations.
  • Equipment Disassembly and Repair: Disassemble complex electromechanical equipment, noting parts identification, configuration, and condition, and repair, install, or remove motors and equipment as needed.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform tests on electromechanical equipment, document results, and troubleshoot known or suspected problems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Observe all safety procedures, use proper safety equipment, and adhere to company standards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as requested by management, contributing to the company's overall success and growth.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Hands-on Field Service Experience: Five years of hands-on field service experience with mechanical or electrical equipment, with a strong understanding of AC and/or DC systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of small and large (horsepower) motors and equipment, including Vibration Institute certification (Category I or II) or the ability to work toward certification.
  • Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with customers at their work sites, and strong problem-solving skills to work independently with little direction.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to foster good employee/management relations, build a strong team effort, and promote teamwork and direct work of employees.
  • Math and Training Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions, understand fractions and percentages, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
  • Initiative and Judgment: Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine duties within company standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate overhead cranes, fork lift trucks, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel, including overnight stays, may be required for this position.
Estimated Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
