Position Summary:

The Dancing Eagle Travel Center Clerk is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by welcoming patrons, processing transactions, managing inventory, taking orders, preparing food items, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to work punctually and be prepared to fulfill job responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner, communicate menu specials, take orders, prepare food, and ensure cleanliness in service areas.
  • Operate the point of sale system efficiently, handle cash transactions, and maintain an organized cash register.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility.
  • Stock merchandise and ensure it is presented in an orderly fashion.
  • Promote products to enhance sales and assist customers in locating items.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the training of new employees.
  • Build rapport with guests through genuine interactions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals and foster a positive work environment.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of services and amenities to assist guests effectively.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be flexible with work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with all staff and customers.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Experience in cashiering and cleaning duties is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Licensing:

  • No specific licenses required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using cash registers and basic computer applications.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as fryers and grills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Mental Demands:

  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills are necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoor work with potential exposure to fumes.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Must obtain and maintain Serv-Safe Certification.
