Position Summary

The Soldering Operator plays a crucial role in the assembly process by connecting various electronic components through soldering techniques. This position involves working with electronic products, including circuit boards and wiring, to guarantee their quality and operational integrity. A keen eye for detail and proficiency in soldering methods are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employ both manual and electrical tools, such as soldering irons and de-soldering devices.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of soldering equipment, including solder pots and hot air guns.
  • Interpret color codes for resistors and values for capacitors.
  • Comprehend PCB assembly procedures and the sequence for installing through-hole components.
  • Conduct rework, repairs, and modifications on printed circuit boards and assemblies as necessary.
  • Offer training and support to junior Soldering Operators.
  • Engage in testing, programming, and troubleshooting of non-operational boards.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in various soldering techniques, including:
    • Through-hole soldering
    • Surface mount technology (SMT) soldering
    • Rework and reflow soldering
  • Ability to manage and assemble small electronic and mechanical components.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with identifying a broad range of electronic components.
