About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our veterinary hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth of a productive practice.

Estimated Salary:$120,000 - $180,000 per year

About the Job

The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, allowing for expeditious diagnosis of patient problems. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care through physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Utilize a problem-based approach to develop complete diagnostic plans and treatments
  • Document patient observations, findings, and interactions with clients
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License (if applicable)
  • USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date
