The Operating Room Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff within the Surgery Department at Grant Regional Health Center. This position requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect operating rooms between surgical cases, ensuring a sterile environment for patients and staff.
- Dispose of trash and linen, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Communicate effectively with patients, surgical teams, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Perform monthly cleaning and supply checks, and assist with ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Transport patients and assist with preparing the operating room for surgery.
- High school graduate or equivalent with familiarity with cleaning products.
- Hospital cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift and/or transfer a minimum of 50 pounds, and possess good balance and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic computer knowledge and effective communication skills.
