Job Overview

Our client, a prominent and rapidly expanding manufacturer of specialized commercial products, is seeking a Controls Engineer to enhance the engineering division at their manufacturing facility. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and execution of intricate commercial and outdoor systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engineering PLC and HMI based solutions;
  • Creating hardware designs along with system configuration and interface documentation;
  • Conducting various controls engineering activities utilizing computer-aided design or engineering software;
  • Designing and executing new systems while also upgrading and maintaining existing systems for industrial and commercial applications;
  • Collaborating with the engineering team on current and prospective engineering initiatives and products;
  • Ensuring compliance with customer specifications and standards by preparing system specifications and technical schematics;
  • Compiling reports and relevant data for ongoing projects;
  • Implementing data logging and alarm management systems;
  • Modifying and integrating new systems to reduce operational downtime;

To qualify for consideration, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field;
  • Knowledge of NEC & UL standards;
  • Expertise in design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical;
  • Experience in PLC or HMI programming;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering for industrial or commercial applications.
