Millwork Estimation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Millwork Estimation Specialist to join our team at Mavec Advisors, LLC. As a Commercial Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for millwork projects.

Key Responsibilities- Estimate Preparation:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for millwork projects.
- Quantify materials, union and project management labor, and equipment requirements for each project.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Obtain and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to stay updated on material costs and availability.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and general contractors to clarify project scopes and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and bid packages for submission.
- Cost Analysis & Reporting:
- Review and adjust estimates based on project changes and value engineering considerations.
- Provide detailed cost breakdowns and reporting to management and clients as required.
- Market Research:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market rates, and innovative materials or techniques in millwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in millwork estimation or a related construction field on commercial / larger projects.
- Education: A degree or certification in construction management, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of millwork materials, fabrication processes, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Reliable transportation for occasional site visits or meetings.
