Position Overview: Materials Controls Manager

Role Summary: In the capacity of Materials Controls Manager, you will be tasked with supervising the planning, execution, and assessment of our materials and inventory to maximize operational efficiency and productivity. Your role is vital in ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing inventory levels, and maintaining robust relationships with our teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the quantity and availability of materials required for production scheduling.
- Manage scheduling to guarantee timely deliveries with minimal need for expediting.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to fulfill and uphold customer requirements.
- Establish key inventory and delivery performance indicators.
- Utilize and maintain ERP systems and other databases to monitor inventory levels, manage material flows, generate reports, and ensure accurate costing systems.
- Oversee forecasting, capacity, and risk management.
- Lead initiatives for inventory management and reduction.
- Plan and supervise the activities of multi-site Production Planners.
- Monitor and manage the cycle count process.
- Train and assess team members.
- Resolve all inventory-related supply challenges.
- Analyze trends to enhance inventory operations, including purchasing, materials, suppliers, and storage.
- Represent the organization's inventory needs in supplier relationship management.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of the work area, etc.).
- Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Materials Controls Manager, Master Scheduler, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and other relevant tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of the field's concepts and principles.
- Ability to execute complex tasks, typically following established processes.
- Experience in leading and directing the work of other employees with full authority for personnel decisions.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, along with at least 6 years of experience.
- CPIM, CIRM, CPP, APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
- An advanced degree is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- High proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork and effective listening.
- Excellent reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
