HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our NICU Transport team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
- Level III NICU experience required.
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
- STABLE must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital serving Bay County and the surrounding communities.
