Job Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant provides critical support to the medical team at Bethel Animal Hospital, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills, compassion, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily clinic duties, including laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology tasks.
  • Provide exceptional client care, scheduling appointments, taking payments, and checking in patients.
  • Record accurate medical information in patient records, review estimates and discharge instructions with clients, and answer phones in a courteous and informative manner.
  • Work under the direction of a DVM to provide patient care and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, handle a fast-paced environment, and stay focused during medical crises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and veterinarians.

Clinic Hours:

Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-4pm, Sunday - closed

Shift Details:

11am-7:30pm during the week, with occasional Saturday shifts. If working a Saturday shift, a day off during the week will be given.
