Contract Duration

This position is structured as a contract role.

Key Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will be part of a newly established team focused on enhancing content safety measures, particularly in visual media.
  • Expect to engage primarily with backend systems utilizing Java and Scala, as well as event streaming technologies to streamline detection processes.
  • Work on consolidating detection workflows to leverage new capabilities for automatic content removal.
  • Contribute to the goal of reducing system inventory by 10%, improving the sustainability of current components for streamlined maintenance.
  • Participate in the development of a dashboard to monitor the effectiveness and quality of the new detection mechanisms.
  • Gain experience collaborating with a globally distributed team, enhancing asynchronous communication and workflow.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java.
  • Experience with Scala.
  • Familiarity with data streaming technologies.
  • Knowledge of BigQuery and Google Cloud is advantageous.
