Key Responsibilities

  • Provide service to customers in the designated area.
  • Receive and manage repair orders from the Service Manager or designated personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with the service office to relay necessary repairs and obtain customer approvals.
  • Diagnose malfunctions by observing and listening to equipment in operation.
  • Propose solutions that meet customer specifications and provide estimates as needed.
  • Perform repairs, servicing, and reconditioning of equipment as authorized.
  • Collaborate with the Parts department to acquire necessary components.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and mechanical repairs following a detailed analysis of breakdowns.
  • Document all repairs accurately, including model and serial numbers, and record hour meter readings.
  • Engage with customers to communicate repair needs and completed work.
  • Ensure safety devices and protective guards are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Lubricate moving parts and test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and cleanliness of the service vehicle.
  • Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Service Manager immediately.
  • Deliver quality work efficiently and professionally.
  • Support marketing initiatives to enhance parts, service, equipment, and rental sales.
  • Complete service documentation and submit it to the Service department daily.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience or relevant education.
  • Basic proficiency in computer and internet applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and team members.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, sit, twist, and lift various weights. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. Exposure to varying weather conditions may occur.
